Vocalise for flute octet and cello

$12.00

Featuring contrabass flute in the famous lyrical solo line, this is a gem of an addition to our flute choir repertoire. Rachmaninoff, a legendary Russian pianist of the late Romantic era, composed this plaintive wordless melody for soprano and piano in 1915. This arrangement provides an opportunity for the contrabass to shine in a tender melody as supported by lush accompaniment. Of course, the flute choir needs to be very soft in most sections except measures 18 through 31. A solo cello part is provided in case a contrabass flute is not available. What a joyous and enchanting opportunity for both the ensemble and the audience.
