Trio from L’Enfance du Christ for flute quintet

$6.00

A sugar and spice Christmas offering, L’Enfance du Christ was a Parisian breakout composition for Berlioz. “It is entirely too lovely to have been composed by Berlioz,” sniffed a critic. The oratorio tells the tale of Joseph and Mary’s flight to Egypt to escape evil King Herod soon after the birth of Jesus. The original was a trio for two flutes and harp. It is a musical illustration via a lovely lullaby and brief dance done by the Ishmaelites for baby Jesus. This arrangement for flute ensemble is a moving addition to traditional carols of the season.
