Tico Tico no Fuba for clarinet quartet

This famous piece is lively Brazilian choro song expressing a farmer’s lament as the tico (a bird similar to a sparrow or canary) is eating cornmeal from his grainery. The farmer wishes that the tico would eat insects or even fruit from his orchard, but the tico prefers grain. The farmer tries all manner of methods to stop the tico, such as offering substitute foods, setting traps, and even getting a cat. But, in the end, the tico prevails and continues enjoying grain from the farmer’s grainery.
