The Girl with the Golden Hair and The Little Shepherd for flute quintet

Claude Debussy composed a number of little pieces the emit great charm. The two in this set, The Girl with the Golden Hair (from Preludes) and The Little Shepherd (from Children’s Corner), make a nice pairing. Girl contains a gentle melody and Debussy’s inimitable harmonies. Shepherd helps us visualize a boy skipping about as he tends his sheep. There are no significant technical issues for performance, other than the necessary change of style from one second to the other.
