Stellar: Far Away Worlds, Little Big Bear, The New Eden for flute quartet (optional strings)

Here is a 3 movement quartet with 13 files so multiple instrumental combinations of flutes and strings may be utilized. It might be performed with all flutes or all strings or a delightful mix of these two different timbres. In addition to the score, each movement has:

• part 1 = flute or violin
• part 2 = flute or violin or viola
• part 3 = flute or alto flute or violin or viola
• part 4 = bass flute or violin or viola

Movements one and three are soft and lyrical, possibly depicting a dream of an infinite world or new hope through the unknown. These could even be enjoyed in a sacred setting. The middle movement is very dynamic, similar to a dance or a child’s energetic game that throws caution to the wind. Each member of the quartet is given both melodic and rhythmic roles. This provides more interest for performers and nice balance to the ensemble.
