Pictures at an Exhibition – Promenade, Ballet of the Chicks for flute quintet

A short promenade leads us to the next picture at the exhibition. The little chickens are hatching, cracking their shells with their beaks and dancing between the broken pieces. In this arrangement, the piccolo (flute 2 doubling) takes over the part of the tweeting chicken, with the other flutes dancing around it. A fun piece, also very good as an encore!
