This well-known piece by Ravel, written for symphonic orchestra, is often performed by flute and piano. Here we have a flute quartet arrangement that is accessible to all, including inexperienced players who enjoy the ensemble sound of a flute quartet. Beginning flutists may play some of the high notes an octave lower. The optional cello or double bass part adds a slight accentuation of the tempo.
