Overture to The Magic Flute for flute octet

This comedic opera of Mozart’s was written close to the end of his life, premiering just three weeks before his death. It was immediately hugely popular and remains so to this day. Its spirited energy works extremely well for flute choir and would be a wonderful opening piece for your next concert. This arrangement has been edited for length and is not a complete transcription. Parts 1-4 plus the alto and bass parts are for advanced players. Parts 5 & 6 are written for younger players so all playing levels may enjoy performing this piece together, certainly a “win-win” situation.
