Ophelia Rag for flute sextet

This snappy little ragtime piece was named after a popular comic strip character, goofy-looking Ophelia Bumps, as drawn by Clare Victor Dwiggins. Her comedic demeanor is well depicted in this energetic composition. James Scott, regarded as one of the three most important composers of classic ragtime, wrote it in 1910.
