Kelly’s Greene celebrates the experiences of building “fairy houses” of moss, stones, twigs, leaves, woodland fungi, and other natural fairy-like materials with a beloved goddaughter. Its Celtic flavor conjures up visions of “little people,” and as you hear its lilting melody you may be able to catch a glimpse of leprechauns and fairies as they dance and build their tiny houses.
Even though much of this piece is slurred, it should be played with a feeling of lightness and buoyancy. It may be taken at a slower tempo as long as it maintains a sense of forward motion. A charming duet!
