I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day for handbells and flute

This very well known song was popularized by Johnny Marks, Kate Smith, Frank Sinatra, Harry Belafonte, and Bing Crosby. A flute quartet (the 4th could be doubled by bass flute) carries most of the melody in this sweet version while a handbell quartet provides creative harmonies. Of course, if there are not ringers available who are adept at ensemble ringing, a full flute choir could cover all the bells quite easily. In settings without handbells, that part of the score would also work well on piano or keyboard.
