Four Humors for flute quartet

This is inspired by the four humors of personality, having four parts and four movements that each begin with a similar strain. First there is Sanguine, with a spring in our steps. Then we dance forcefully as we become Choleric. Next, we turn pensive and Melancholic. Finally, we are Phlegmatic and at ease. Each instrument has its moments to shine in each movement.
