Estudiantina for flute quartet

$11.00

Emile Waldteufel (1837-1915) was a German composer who established his claim to fame in Paris and who found great favor with King Edward VII of the United Kingdom.

He adapted Band of Students Waltz originally for two pianos in 1883 and later for orchestra. This quartet version moves the melody around between the parts and is effectively performed on 4 C flutes or a combination of 2 C flutes with a couple of altos and/or a bass flute. It makes a delightfully uplifting selection on a concert because it is fun for performers and audience members alike.
