Elegy and Departure for flute quintet

$11.00

Felix Mendelssohn’s Elegy and Departure are from his very popular “Songs Without Words”. Elegy is all sweetness and light, while Departure is a quick escape from the mundane. Without even a hint of melancholy, they are a great program ending duo to cause the audience to smile while skipping out the door. Technical issues are modest, other than changing the style very decisively from smooth and lyrical in the first piece to briskly percussive in the second.
