Easter Hymn for flute ensemble

$2.00

“Cavalleria Rusticana” is an Italian one act opera that was one of three winners of a competition for all “young Italian composers who had not yet had an opera performed on stage.” Mascagni submitted his manuscript on the last day of the deadline, along with 72 other entries.

The name translates “Rustic Chivalry” and its premier was in 1890 in Rome. The gorgeous “Easter Hymn” is sung by the townspeople who are gathering to enter the Cathedral for Mass.
