Boat Song for flute octet

Dorothy Howell, born in Birmingham, began her composition lessons at the Royal Academy of Music at 15. She achieved fame with her symphonic poem Lamia, which was inspired by the Keats poem. This is an arrangement for flute ensemble of the well sustained elegiac feeling of her “Boat Song” from 1920.
