Black and Orange for flute sextet

So-named because of my late cat Toffee’s black-and-orange tortoiseshell pattern, this piece suggests playfulness even though it is in a minor key. It contrasts youthful innocence with the inevitable end of each life form. Featuring a challenging piccolo passage, this is a great choice for flute choirs putting together a Halloween themed concert.
