Aftermath is “music for your darkest thoughts.” This is a serious work that depicts the brutal, dark expanse of war, mistrust and hatred, which is rampant in our world.
The work is stark and barren, with dissonance throughout. The piece works best with alto flutes which give the music a low finality, along with a harsh, desperate quality in the upper register.
