Lynton Eckhart (1942-2022) was a former music director for the Los Angeles County Public Schools. He received his Bachelor of Music degree in theory and composition from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
After two years of military service, he studied composition and orchestration at the University of Southern California with Ingolf Dahl and earned a Master of Arts degree at California State University, Los Angeles.
His flute studies were with John Hicks (principal flute, San Antonio Symphony and pupil of Rampal), and Louise Di Tullio (principal flute, LA Philharmonic).
Before passing in 2022, he lived with his wife, Teri, in Las Vegas, played with the Las Vegas Flute Ensemble, and gave private lessons in piano, flute and accordion.
