Christine D. Indech began learning piano and flute at ages 7 and 9, respectively, enjoying bands and chamber concerts into graduate school. Music was mostly put aside during a career as an orthopedic surgeon, although the flute and piano always came along. After early retirement, a fortuitous find of the Atlanta Flute Ensemble sparked a resumption of regular play, and a desire to arrange great pieces of classical music, not originally written for flutes together. Although faithful to what is believed to be the composer’s intent, melody and harmony lines will pass through several parts, keys may be changed, and rhythmic and ornamental constructs altered to allow flute groups to successfully play them.
