The Broken Clock for flute duet

$5.00

“The Broken Clock” is an example of music of a dissonant world gone askew with moments of hope, and the despair of an inharmonious ending. It personifies the mundane machine-like lives of so many who live an almost broken existence, waiting in vain for others to notice their work.

The clock runs in a dissonant way, then suddenly lurches forward at double speed near the end of the work, and once again falls back to its mundane existence. In the end, things do not resolve in a happy way. This piece evokes the image of a slightly broken mechanical machine, which mirrors the mundane and flawed lives of so many people.
