Can-Can from La Boutique Fantasque for flute ensemble

$13.00

Made famous as a one-act ballet, the “Can-can” and all the other movements which comprise the work were borrowed from Rossini’s piano pieces entitled “Sins of Old Age” and orchestrated by Respighi almost a century later.

This highlight piece of the ballet, although marked originally as “allegretto,” should be played as the fast and flashy dance that it has become. The rapidly descending G major scales are but a musical “Hey!” and not to be feared — just make sure the first and second beats begin with the correct notes. We are looking for fireworks here!

This is a wonderful opener or encore number.
